The Department of Periodontics in the College of Dentistry at Texas A&M University invites applications for a full-time Academic Professional Track (non-tenure) position, with appointment beginning on or after July 1, 2026.  Applicants will be considered for the faculty titles of Clinical Assistant Professor, Clinical Associate Professor, or Clinical Professor of Periodontics, depending on qualifications and experience.Â
The successful candidate will be expected to participate in supervision of clinical activities such as overseeing and directing patient care, participation in undergraduate dental and dental hygiene student didactic and clinical teaching, evaluation of students' performance and professionalism, supervision of student's clinical progress, as well as counseling students regularly. The candidate is also expected to participate in the department's research requirements and activities, along with the University's and departments' service activities. Depending on qualifications and experience, the faculty hired for this position will be involved in clinical teaching up to 32 hours per week, including didactic teaching, clinical supervision, and clinical teaching, at both pre-doctoral and post-doctoral level.
Required qualifications:
DDS or equivalent degree
MS/MSc or equivalent degree from a US-accredited program
Certificate in Periodontics from a CODA-accredited periodontal program.
Eligible for licensure in Texas
Board certification is required for candidates who completed periodontal residency training more than two years prior to applying.
Preferred qualifications:
Candidates should have a demonstrable record of clinical teaching and relevant research and service experiences.
Preference will be given to candidates who have initiated and/or completed the American Board of Periodontology certification process.
