Take the next step in your career and join our dedicated team at the Greater Los Angeles VA Healthcare System as a Fee-Based Dental Hygienist. In this key position, you will be at the forefront of enhancing patient care and satisfaction. This role involves performing thorough patient assessments, including risk and oral health evaluations, Periodontal Screening and Recording (PSR), and providing specialized care for medically compromised patients. Duties will encompass delivering comprehensive oral prophylactic care, such as fluoride applications, gross debridement, scaling, and root planning, while efficiently managing the dental recall system and administering topical anesthetic agents.
Moreover, you will be pivotal in-patient education, delivering personalized guidance on oral health care that considers each patient's medical history and conditions. You will capture high-quality dental radiographic images, handle clerical tasks like appointment scheduling, and safeguard patient confidentiality by HIPAA regulations. Continuous education and mandatory annual training sessions will support your professional growth, ensuring you stay compliant with licensure and certification requirements. Working closely with a supervising dentist, you will be an integral part of our team, ensuring all procedures meet Dental Service policies. Qualifications:
Must be a U.S. Citizen
Unrestricted dental hygienist license from any U.S. State, territory, or District of Columbia.
Must possess an associate degree or higher from a CODA accredited dental hygiene program.
Certification as dental radiographer
Fee Basis:Â
$75.00 - $100.00 per patient with an average of seven patients per day
