Kansas City University College of Dental Medicine seeks a Periodontist as full-time, clinical faculty. The faculty member will be responsible for the didactic, pre-clinical and clinical periodontal protocols and procedures, integrating evidence-based best practices with clinical patient care as well as guiding current research and scholarly activity in periodontology. Â The periodontal faculty member will collaborate with, and educate the dental Group Practice Leaders, Assistant Group Practice Leaders, simulation faculty, and clinical faculty in the current science of periodontal therapy for patient care.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Candidates must demonstrate a passion for dentistry and the application of its didactic principles to preclinical and clinical patient care, a strong desire to teach students in a demanding, fast-paced, academic environment
Develop goals, objectives and policies for the periodontal dental education program within the KCU College of Dental Medicine
Implement and deliver the periodontology curriculum including pre-clinical materials, simulation and laboratory exercises
Integrate evidence-based best practices with clinical patient care and guide current research and scholarly activity in periodontology
Assure the safe and effective delivery of periodontal care by the dental students
Deliver clinical periodontal therapy for patients as needed
Serve as an advisor, coach and/or mentor to dental students expressing a desire for advanced education in periodontology
Mentor dental student research in the area of periodontics when applicable
Conduct summative and formative pre-clinical and clinical student assessment in periodontal therapy
Perform other duties as assigned by supervising faculty or Dean

Qualifications:
Qualified candidates must possess a D.D.S./D.M.D. degree
Certificate of completion of a CODA accredited Advanced Education Program in Periodontics
The preferred candidate will be currently licensed in Missouri or have an active dental license in a US state or Canada and be eligible for licensure in Missouri
Must be board-certified or board-eligible in Periodontics
