The Ohio State Universitys College of Dentistry is seeking a dental hygienist to support its Upper Arlington location.

The full-time hygienist performs general dental hygiene duties including but not limited to periodontal scaling and root planing, pediatric dental care, patient education, exposing radiographs, instrument maintenance, supply maintenance, ensures appropriate HIPAA/OSHA compliance, accurately documents visit information and treatment plans in the patient's electronic health record, provides appropriate follow up for all outside referrals, ensures operatory is kept clean, communicates appropriately with on-site provider, management and clerical staff.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, typically 7:30 am 4:30 pm, may vary based on provider availability.

The targeted pay range is between $35.25 - $44.00 based on the candidate's education and experience and internal equity.

This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.

Physical Requirements: Within a work setting will be standing, sitting or walking throughout the clinic for extended period of time; use of aids such as computers, monitors and technological or dental equipment; retrieval, use, and storage; needs to have use of both hands as well as dexterity in the fingers, and the ability to manipulate instruments, materials, dental hand pieces and operate dental equipment. Individuals in this position may be exposed to the following: bloodborne pathogens; chemical hazards (skin irritants); vibrating equipment; use of sharp instruments; and latex.

Education and Experience Qualifications

Required: Associates or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene, Dental Hygiene licensure in the State of Ohio and CPR/BLS required at all times throughout employment

Desired: 3-5 years experience preferred. License to administer local anesthesia preferred. Qualified to practice under limited supervision also preferred. Experience and knowledge of a wide variety of dental instruments and procedures; experience with electronic health record, computer literacy including Microsoft Office/Excel preferred. Experience providing complex periodontal therapy preferred.
