The Dental Hygienist provides oral health care in an outpatient clinical setting. This position performs dental prophylactic services and provides educational information for prevention and control of dental disease. This position is responsible for cleaning and care of teeth as well as teaching proper care of teeth and gums.
The Dental Hygienist must possess the ability to work and interact effectively and positively with other staff members to build and enhance teamwork in the clinic
and in the overall CHCCW organization. This position requires individual flexibility, initiative and the ability to handle several complex tasks at once.

Duties include, but are not limited to:
Patient screening procedures, such as assessment of oral health conditions, review of the health history, oral cancer screening, head and neck inspection, dental charting and taking blood pressure and pulse
Taking and developing dental radiographs (x-rays)
Removing calculus and plaque (hard and soft deposits) from all surfaces of the teeth
Applying preventive materials to the teeth (e.g., sealants and fluorides)
Teaching patients' appropriate oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health; (e.g., tooth brushing, flossing and nutritional counseling)
Counseling patients about good nutrition and its impact on oral health
Making impressions of patients' teeth for study casts
Performing documentation and office management activities
Experience:
(1) year dental hygienist (Preferred)
Prior Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) (Preferred)

Required Licensure and Certification:
Current Wyoming license through the Wyoming Board of Dental Examiners (Required)
Wyoming Public Health Hygienist Expanded Function (Preferred)
