DENTAL HYGIENIST, MIT Health, to provide appropriate dental care and oral hygiene instruction to patients. Will perform preventive and therapeutic treatments according to a patient's individual needs, including coronal polishing, supra- and sub gingival scaling, root planning, placing sealants, application of fluoride, exposing and developing radiographs, and soft tissue management regimens as described by law; and assist in obtaining and updating clerical and clinical information and documenting same.
REQUIRED: registered dental hygienist with license valid in Massachusetts; current CPR certification; strong communication and problem-solving skills; initiative; ability to work cooperatively with other Dental Service staff members; skill with sharpening a variety of dental instruments and using dental hand piece and instruments, including the ultrasonic type; familiarity with X-ray exposure and developing equipment and sterilization equipment; ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; and good eyesight and hand/eye coordination and manual dexterity.
