The School of Dental Medicine at Stony Brook University is seeking applications for a full-time (12-month), clinical-track faculty appointment at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Endodontics. The major duties of successful applicants include pre-clinical, clinical and didactic teaching of all aspects of periodontics at the dental student and periodontics resident levels. Additional responsibilities involve supporting the school?s compliance with SBU, SBM and SDM best practices, demonstrating growth in pedagogical skills and an aptitude for scholarship, serving on select school committees, engaging in school governance and participating in the school?s affiliated faculty practice.

Required Qualifications: DDS/DMD (or foreign equivalent) degree from a CODA-accredited dental school/college or international equivalent degree. Certificate from a CODA-accredited Advanced Education Program in Periodontics. Board Certification, or in the process of achieving board eligibility, by the American Board of Periodontology. Posess, or be eligible, for a New York State Dental license.Experience in and an appreciation for the interdisciplinary care of patients with other dental specialists.
Preferred Qualifications: Didactic and/or clinical teaching experience at a CODA-accredited dental school/college or hospital setting. Advanced degrees (e.g., MS and/or PhD in a related field, or foreign equivalent). A record of research and/or scholarly activity. Participation in organized dentistry at the local, state or national level. Desire to enroll in the Master?s in Higher Education Administration program.
