The Ohio State University College of Dentistry seeks a Patient Revenue Cycle Senior Coordinator to join the Division of Periodontology. The Division of Periodontology provides dental service to the community for all of their periodontal needs, and its periodontal faculty, graduate students and staff provide high quality patient care for the citizens of Ohio by offering a full range of periodontal procedures which include scaling and root planing (deep cleaning), soft tissue grafting (gum grafts), bone grafting (to treat periodontal disease), implant surgery (for the replacement of teeth) and a wide variety of other periodontal procedures, such as treatment of gummy smiles.
The Ohio State University College of Dentistry is the fourth largest public dental school in the United States and it is the only public dental school in Ohio. The college is divided into ten divisions with all major ADA-recognized dental specialties represented. The College has approximately 600 students in its undergraduate and graduate programs.
Functions as an integral member of a team of care providers in the Graduate Periodontology clinic to provide patient focused customer service and clerical support. Responsible for checking in patients, coordinating/gathering all documentation related to the patient chart, scheduling appointments with patients, coordinating clinic and residents schedules, training residents on office policies and procedures, serving as a liaison between the clinic and the patient financial services office, division lead in the coordination and implementation of the electronic health records system. Provides a variety of clerical support services in collaboration with other members of the patient-focused care team.
Monday Friday; 8am -5pm or 7:30am - 4:30pm, depending on operational needs
This position requires successful completion of a criminal background check and drug and alcohol screening.
Work is performed primarily in an office environment and the employee in this class is subject to inside environmental conditions. This position requires sustained periods using a keyboard and performing other computer work. Requires sufficient personal mobility and physical reflexes, which permits the employee to function in a general office environment to accomplish tasks. Ability to lift 25 pounds with or without accommodation.
Required: Two years experience using a personal computers and Microsoft Office to generate a variety of materials ranging from basic to complex; and practices and procedures within a dental or medical practice; and customer service; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Desired: Knowledge of dental terminology, dental practices and procedures, and patient interaction.
