JOB SUMMARY:ÂÂ
A dental hygienist is a registered, licensed dental health professional. The Dental Hygienist will work independently or alongside dentists and other dental professionals to provide full oral health care specializing in the treatment and prevention of many oral diseases.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Graduation from an accredited dental hygiene program required
Successful completion of the written National Board Dental Hygiene Examination required
State Licensure required.ÂÂ
X-ray Certification required
BLS Certification required
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Medical and Medication knowledge Sterilize Technique knowledge Radiology Safety knowledge Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to work will all ages and special needs patients
Knowledge of HIPPA
Ability to learn/utilize EMR Ability to multitask in a fast paced environment
Ability to assist and take direction from residents, preceptors, and teammates in an academic setting
Must be able to perform hygiene procedures for a maximum 8 hour shift, including sitting, standing, bending, lifting less than 50 lbs.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Bilingual-Spanish Dentrix experience
