The University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine (CUSDM) seeks outstanding applicants for a full-time, clinical track position in the Division of Periodontics. The Department of Surgical Dentistry is home to four divisions – the Divisions of Periodontics, Endodontics, Diagnostic Sciences, and Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. There is a graduate program in Periodontics housed within the department.

This clinical teaching (C/T) track position will be full or part-time, at the rank of Assistant Professor (C/T), Associate Professor (C/T), or Professor (C/T) depending upon candidate qualifications.
Position Emphasis:
The primary responsibilities of this position include predoctoral didactic and clinical teaching, research, and patient care. An academic focus is expected and can be developed in any number of areas across school programs and strengths, including dental education research, clinical, translational, or bench research.
Experience in educational innovation to include use of technology in education with preference given to those with previous teaching and research experience.
Participation in the School of Dental Medicine’s Dental Faculty Practice for private patient care is available.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Assistant Professor:
- A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent
- Certificate in Advanced Education in Periodontics residency program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
- Certificate in Advanced Education in Periodontics residency program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
- Certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Periodontology
- A Master’s or Ph.D. degree is preferred
- Eligibility for a Colorado dental license
- At this rank, applicants will have some successful teaching experience and will be expected to teach and/or provide clinical care.
- Associate Professor:
- A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent
- Certificate in Advanced Education in Periodontics residency program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
- Certificate in Advanced Education in Periodontics residency program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
- Certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Periodontology
- A Master’s or Ph.D. degree is preferred
- Eligibility for a Colorado dental license
- At this rank, applicants will be well qualified to teach and/or provide clinical care with considerable demonstrated evidence of successful teaching and demonstrated leadership and service.
- Professor:
- A DDS/DMD degree from a CODA accredited U.S. dental school or foreign equivalent
- Certificate in Advanced Education in Periodontics residency program accredited by the Commission on Dental Accreditation
- Certified or eligible for certification by the American Board of Periodontology
- A Master’s or Ph.D. degree is preferred
- Eligibility for a Colorado dental license
- At this rank, applicants will demonstrate outstanding accomplishments in teaching, and/or providing clinical care, a record of leadership, and a meritorious leadership and service record.
- Experience in educational innovation to include use of technology in education with preference given to those with previous teaching and research experience
