The Department of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine invites applications for full-time tenure track faculty position at the Assistant Professor level. The Department of Periodontics comprises a strong group of clinicians and researchers who are committed to excellence in education, patient care, research and service. We are seeking candidates with academic accomplishments in both clinical and basic sciences who are able to build and maintain the department's reputation nationally and internationally. The responsibilities of the position include establishment of an independent research program, clinical and didactic teaching, service, and continuing education. Clinical practice within the University is available.

The successful candidate must have a dual degree (DDS/DMD-PhD or DDS/DMD-DScD) or foreign equivalent; completed a CODA-accredited advanced education program in Periodontics; eligibility for certification as a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology; able to obtain a Restricted Faculty License or a Full Dental License from the State of Pennsylvania. Applicants with track- record of publications and current grant funding will be preferred. Applicants are invited to submit a curriculum vitae which includes previous and current research support, statement of research and teaching interests, and names and contact information for at least three references.
