A new postdoctoral fellow position is available in Dr. Vivek Thumbigere Math's lab at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry. Dr. Math is seeking an enthusiastic and highly motivated scientist to join the NIH funded research program studying molecular genetics and immunoinflammatory responses in periodontal disease using human, animal and in-vitro models.
The successful candidate will benefit from ongoing collaborations with NIH on a wide randge of basic and translational research, as well as a vibrant community of interactive research labs at the University of Maryland. The position has comprehensive career and training opportunities.
Applicant must possess an advanced degree (DDS and/or PhD) in a relevant field and have training in immunology and/or bone biology. Candidates with experience in cell culture and tissue engineering, mouse work, signal transduction assays, histology/immunohistochemistry, and skeletal physiology are encouraged to apply. Candidates with experience in micro-CT, next-generation sequencing, and bioinformatics will receive special consideration. The ideal candidate will be organized and self-motivated, with a strong publication track record, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and able to collaborate on multidisciplinary research projects.
